The church comes under the Ernakulam - Angamaly Archeparchy diocese.
In the metro city and financial hub of Ernakulam; Kalamassary is where the church is located. In the olden days, a lot of labourers used to dwell in Kalamassery. in 1963, The church was built for the devotees among the labourers for worship. Later on, many labourers from various parts of the state moved to Kalamassery and resided nearby the church. It is believed that unemployed people will find work after praying in the church.
