Ernakulam Shiva Temple


Location: Durbar Hall Rd, Ernakulam
Ernakulam Shiva temple, often called as Ernakulathappan Temple was built in 1846. It is one of the most prominent temples in the district and is currently under the Cochin Devasom Board. The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva also called Ernakulathappan(Protector of Ernakulam) in the district. There is also a Hanuman temple very close to the temple. This historic temple provides a very serene atmosphere and devotees can find peace here under the blessing of Lord Shiva. During the temple festival, various programmes are held in the nearby ground and it is attended by a huge number of people. Since the temple is situated in the centre of the district, it is very convenient to reach the place.
